About GECM-SSIP-cell
GECM-SSIP-cell is an incubation hub that nurtures innovations and startups under the scheme of Student Start up & Innovation policy, initiated by Government of Gujarat. GECM received funding of INR 1.2 crore from Education Department, Government of Gujarat under SSIP Policy.
The vision of the GECM-SSIP-cell is to provide adequate incubation facilities viz. to provide awareness, mentorship, sponsorship and hand holding till startup.
The cell regularly organizes awareness/motivation/skill enhancing programs by faculty members and experts for sowing seeds of innovating and domain knowledge dissemination. The cell also supports patent filing and legal assistance.
The students of the institute are exposed to the experts, mentors, investors and advisors by supporting their participation in the university and state level events, symposia, competitions.
The Cell also has co-working environment as a tinkering lab to facilitate experimenting and prototyping of the innovative ideas of the students.
GECM-SSIP-cell has the following goals:
> To establish throbbing co-working space for collaborative and project based learning at the premises
> To provide incubating facilities to nurture innovative ideas into a startup
> To provide networking platform for frequent interactive programs with the resource persons
> To set up an ecosystem to mentor and nurture early entrepreneurs
