The Department of Mechanical and Automobile Engineering, Government Engineering College, Modasa, organized a celebration of the 58th Engineer’s Day on 15th September at 2:00 PM in the Seminar Hall (6206). The event was conducted to honor the birth anniversary of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, an eminent Indian engineer and visionary. The program was organized under the patronage of Dr. J. A. Vadher, Principal, GEC Modasa, and under the guidance of Dr. U. V. Shah, Professor & Head, Mechanical Engineering Department, and Dr. R. J. Jani, Associate Professor & Head, Automobile Engineering Department. The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. P. M. Mistri, Prof. M. G. Patel, Prof. H. I. Chaudhari, and Prof. K. V. Fadadu, with active support from the student coordinators. The celebration highlighted the importance of engineering in nation-building and inspired students to pursue excellence in their professional careers. The program created an enthusiastic and motivating atmosphere, encouraging students to embrace innovation, dedication, and ethical engineering practices, making the Engineer’s Day celebration meaningful and memorable.
Government Engineering College, Modasa was established in 1984 under the Directorate of Technical Education, Gujarat State, Gandhinagar in North Gujarat region with a view to spread out technical education in the region and hence promote industrial development. The institute was affiliated with Hemchandracharaya North Gujarat University (HNGU), Patan from 1984 to 2007. The institute is affiliated to Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad from 2008. It is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
